John Mayer Taylor Swift

John Mayer Taylor Swift, Musicians Taylor Swift and John Mayer didn't date long , but the relationship was enough to inspire Swift to write this song, widely considered to be about Mayer — a tune that Mayer now says "humiliated" him . Mayer criticized Swift's track as "cheap songwriting" in an interview with Rolling Stone and said she was "abusing  talent" John Mayer may have supposedly written "Your Body Is a Wonderland" about ex Jennifer Love Hewitt, but the crooner ain't got such flattering things to say about another former flame: Taylor Swift.

Mayer tells Rolling Stone that he is "really humiliated" by her song "Dear John," which he believes unfairly takes a swipe at him in the wake of their rumored fling, which fizzled out in 2010.

Guess hell hath no fury like a Grammy-winning singer-songwriter multiplatinum global superstar scorned!

"I didn't deserve it," he tells the mag about the song, which was on her 2010 album, Speak Now. "I'm pretty good at taking accountability now, and I never did anything to deserve that. It was a really lousy thing for her to do."

The two were rumored to be an item in late 2009 after she supposedly split from Taylor Lautner. Mayer, meanwhile, was on the rebound from his tempestuous romance with Jennifer Aniston.

"I never got an e-mail, I never got a phone call," he says about Swift's bitter ditty, which includes lyrics like "Don't you think 19 is too young to be played by your dark twisted games."

"I was really caught off-guard," he explains, "and it really humiliated me at a time when I'd already been dressed down. I mean, how would you feel if, at the lowest you've ever been, someone kicked you even lower?"

Around that time, Mayer had been wildly panned for a notorious, no-holds-barred interview with Playboy, in which he infamously pegged ex Jessica Simpson as "sexual napalm."

Mayer also look potshots at Swift's songwriting prowess, sniffing, "I will say as a songwriter that I think it's kind of cheap songwriting,"

He adds, "I know she's the biggest thing in the world, and I'm not trying to sink anybody's ship, but I think it's abusing your talent to rub your hands together and go, 'Wait till he gets a load of this!' That's bulls--t."
In a new interview with Rolling Stone, the talkative singer, 34, unloads about his ex's 2010 hit "Dear John" -- a typical Swift-ian revenge song that rehashes their brief 2009 fling.
"It made me feel terrible," Mayer  says of the song, "Because I didn't deserve it."
 Taylor Swift's high-profile flames
He adds angrily, "It was a really lousy thing to do." And Swift, who has notoriously slammed most of her high-profile exes in song  didn't give Mayer any heads up, he claims.
"I never got an email. I never got a phone call," he relates. "I was really caught off-guard."
Not everybody is happy when Taylor Swift used her personal life as an inspiration for her song. Swift's former flame, John Mayer, admitted that he was "humiliated" by the song "Dear John", which was said to be inspired by her broken relationship with the "Your Body Is a Wonderland" hitmaker.

"It made me feel terrible because I didn't deserve it," the 34-year-old singer said in an interview for the latest issue of Rolling Stone magazine. "I'm pretty good at taking accountability now, and I never did anything to deserve that. It was a really lousy thing for her to do."

Swift's "Dear John" is included in her 2010 best-selling studio effort "Speak Now". In the single, the 22-year-old songstress sings, "Dear John, I see it all, now it was wrong/Don't you think 19 is too young to be played by your dark twisted games, when I loved you so?"

Commenting on the lyrics which allegedly were dedicated to him, Mayer said, "I don't want to go into that." He went on claiming, "I never got an e-mail. I never got a phone call. I was really caught off-guard, and it really humiliated me at a time when I'd already been dressed down. I mean, how would you feel if, at the lowest you've ever been, someone kicked you even lower?"

As a musician, the Connecticut-born singer thought that Swift's "Dear John" is lack of quality. "I will say as a songwriter that I think it's kind of cheap songwriting," he said. "I know she's the biggest thing in the world, and I'm not trying to sink anybody's ship, but I think it's abusing your talent to rub your hands together and go, 'Wait till he gets a load of this!' That's bulls***."

Mayer and Swift were romantically linked from late 2009 until June 2010. In an interview shortly after releasing "Dear John", Swift said it was obvious who the man behind the song was. She said, "There are things that were little nuances of the relationship, little hints. Everyone will know, so I don't really have to send out e-mails on this one."
